IN THE NEWS

BACARDI Miami Sailing Week made the news with a wonderful article by Dave Reed in the Jan/Feb 2010 edition of Sailing Week. There is an interview with Gabriele Pedone, BMWS Event Chair, on how the event expanded from a one class to a multi class regatta within the cosmopolitan city of Miami. If you haven’t bought your copy of Sailing Week yet, this is another reason to go buy it now!

Q: After a few months of work into the 2010 BACARDI Cup and the Inaugural BACARDI Miami Sailing Week, what are your expectations and the one of the people you’ve been talking to?

There is added excitement this year with the announcement of BACARDI's Miami Sailing Week. There has been a very enthusiastic reception to the new concept of adding more circles with additional classes and the classes that were not included this year are hoping for invitations next year.

SUPPORTERS OF BACARDI MIAMI SAILING WEEK

The BACARDI Miami Sailing Week is possible because of the vision, professionalism, and dedication of many companies, institutions, and individuals. We want to take a moment to recognize them and thank them for their efforts; in this issue Coral Reef Yacht Club.

Coral Reef Yacht Club is the host club for the BACARDI Cup and will official the Star circuit.  CRYC has been very supportive of the Inaugural BACARDI Miami Sailing Week Regatta and will help out by providing logistical support for the Viper 640 and the J/24 classes. For this we would like to thank Commodore Mark Kamilar and everyone at the Club. Founded in 1955 by an enthusiastic group of sailors in Coconut Grove, the CRYC has turned over the years into a pillar for the sailing community in South Florida and in the United States. Cruising, racing, youth sailing, and race committees, they do it all for our sport and for this we applaud and express gratitude.
